Protection from viruses, spyware
Many people think that if you install antivirus, the PC becomes slow. But viruses and spyware can make your PC slower. It may even delete your important information. For this you should install the latest version of any good antivirus on your PC and update it regularly. An anti spyware should also be used.
Minimal software usage
Using more software can make your PC slower. It installs an entry in the registry as each software is installed. As these entries in the registry increase, the pc becomes slower. So try to use as little software as possible. Another good solution is to use portable software. Portable software can be use without installing. So the registry stays clean.
Disable startup programs/ Software
As soon as your PC starts, some software also starts automatically. This makes the pc to start/boot slowly. To clear startup, go to> Start menu and click Run. Then type msconfig and press Enter. A window will open. From there, click on the Startup tab. The programs that are ticked here auto-start when your PC starts. From here, uncheck the software that is not needed. However, be careful not to check mark on any program on your system. Then restart the PC.
Clean temporary files, cookies and registry
Temporary files are stored while performing various tasks on the computer. These files are completely unnecessary. To delete a temporary file, go to>> Run from the Start Menu and type % temp% then press Enter to see the temporary files. Now select all the files from the keyboard by pressing Ctrl + A and delete them by pressing Shift + Delete.
while browsing the Internet – various web sites store cookies on your PC. Most of these cookies are unnecessary and slow down the PC. If you use the Firefox browser, to delete cookies click Tools from the Firefox browser. Then click on Options and click on the Privacy tab from the window that will open. Now click on the Clear Now button, select the cookie and click on the “Clear Private Data Now” button, the cookie will be deleted. You can use cCleaner software clean the registry.

Use fewer icons on the desktop
The desktop with a filling icon can slow down your PC’s startup and other activities. So you should not have more than 2-3 icons required on the desktop. Use the programs directly from the Start menu or store software’s shortcut in a folder. You can use an open-source software .launchy .
Uninstall unnecessary fonts and software
Unnecessary fonts and software should be uninstalled. The fonts are loaded when the PC starts. As a result, startups become slower. To uninstall the font, go to the Font folder from the Control Panel and delete the unnecessary fonts.
